The reason why I insisted on cooking dinner, preparing kids school lunches for tomorrow, and ironing the clothes, was so between doing those things, I could read (listen to) a book and take notes while doing them. It was my way of secretly being able to get more work in, while still getting the other boxes ticked. Chores don’t have to be boring. I always turn them into an opportunity, to get through more of a book, to squeeze in more notes, more flow. It was like being thanked for studying. No need to thank me. The pleasure was all mine. I was secretly working between doing everything.
